Taiwan Tatler Unveils Its Generation T List 2018

[Taiwan, 12 June 2018] – Taiwan’s most prestigious luxury lifestyle magazine, Taiwan Tatler, released its Generation T List 2018, the ultimate reference of young leaders shaping Taiwan’s future, on June 6.

This year’s list was compiled by inviting various industry leaders across Taiwan to nominate candidates who have made an impact in the community. Among the respected panel of industry heavyweights who made nominations were Alfred Chen, chairman of Namchow Group; Sophie Chang, chairperson of TSMC Charity Foundation; Royce Hong, co-founder and director of XRANGE; Alice H. Chang, CEO of Perfect Corp; Sean Lien, chairman of Youth Development Foundation; and Wang Chen Tsai-Hsia, founder of SHIATZY CHEN.

Notable names on the Generation T List, which this year is in its third incarnation, include Musdm co-founder and music producer A-len Yue, pole vaulter Hsieh Chia-han, Taihu Brewing co-founder Duke Wu, fashion designer Baron Lee and dancer PeiJu Chien-Pott.

Generation T recognises young achievers and accomplished leaders whose actions have brought about positive impact to Taiwanese society. Generation T does not judge based on reputation, status or wealth, but focuses on commending trailblazers who spur change and influencers who push for progress.

This year’s Generation T honourees were carefully chosen after Taiwan Tatler and a committee of industry veterans reviewed close to 100 outstanding individuals aged between 25 and 40. Those who made it on the list come from diverse backgrounds such as technology, arts, media, sports and fashion. Just like previous years, the selection process consists of an 18-month-long appraisal of each individual’s achievements.

Previous Generation T honourees who are on the list again this year include renowned violinist Bonny Tseng; fashion designer Austin Wu; the fastest man in Taiwan, Yang Chun-han; dancer Benson Tsai; and Golden Melody Award winner and singer, Eve Ai.

The Generation T honourees were celebrated at a list launch event on June 6. Guests included past and present Generation T honourees, and famous Taiwanese stars and political figures. This year’s party also cast a spotlight on environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Selected guests were invited to share their philosophies at the event. One of the acclaimed speakers was the chairperson of TSMC Charity Foundation, Sophie Chang, who spoke about CSR (corporate social responsibility). Another esteemed guest was the deputy general manager of Gloria Hotel Enterprise, Fudy Chen, who addressed the concept of green initiatives in food sustainability.

McLaren exhibited its 570S Spider sports car at the event. Rémy Martin sponsored the party with their 1738 Cognac.
