Spectacular soiree releases Hong Kong Tatler’s new annual society list of
the 100 game changers transforming Hong Kong
[HONG KONG – JUNE 27, 2016] –The city’s most eminent young minds congregated on 24 June 2016 at Quarry Bay Space 27 to celebrate the unveiling of Hong Kong Tatler’s Generation T– a new annual list announcing the 100 brightest connectors, creative visionaries, influential innovators and disruptive talents setting the city’s agenda and shaping the conversation. Fashion influencers, philanthropists and tech entrepreneurs will be listed along with artists, designers, cutting-edge chefs and media trailblazers in a socially revealing reflection of the innovative vision of Hong Kong’s bright young talents. Set to become one of Hong Kong’s most anticipated reads, the list is published across all Hong Kong Tatler platforms.
“As Hong Kong Tatler heads towards its 40th year, it becomes more important than ever to be the arbiter of modern society and personality. People reading our content expect us to nail the zeitgeist across all our platforms and to shift the mix and cast of characters to reflect the changing nature of Hong Kong society. The launch of Generation T, made up of 100 of the city’s brightest and most prevailing young talents, is an important part of how we do that. There isn’t a sector that they aren’t taking on and making their own, from art and retail to philanthropy and tech, so while we will continue to speak to our core audience, we are embracing the next generation,” says Claire Breen Melwani, Editor-in-Chief of Hong Kong Tatler.
Generation T-listers gracing the red carpet included: Queenie Law, Harris Chan, Adrian Cheung and Jennifer Cheung, Yen Kuok, Kristine Li, Tianyo Mayao, Stephnie Shek, Lois Tien, Feiping Chang, Victoria Tang, Joyce Wang, Antonia Li, Victoria Chow, Ivan Pun, Anais Mak and Kevin Ma. They were joined by their friends, including Celina Jade, Vickie Li, David Ng, Alex Ng and Veronica Lam.

The headline musical act, Australian singer-songwriter Harts, brought the house down; the artist, who was hailed by the late artist known as Prince as someone who “reminds me of how I was at that age,” entertained with an electric set of chart-topping alternative rock and indie hits. The celebration continued well into the night as guests danced and mingled to the electrifying beats by Benedict Ku and Drafus Chow’s duo Disco Step Child.
The Generation T guide will be available on newsstands from 4 July 2016 together with the Hong Kong Tatler July issue. The main book will also feature a special 4-cover design to commemorate the milestone launch event. An online directory went live on HongKongTatler.com at midnight on 25 June.
Generation T will complement the established 500 List in Hong Kong Tatler’s annual Society magazine, which since 1994 has identified the most powerful and influential members in Hong Kong business and society each year. WhileSociety is published in the first week of January, Generation T will be released in the middle of each year.
Generation T is being published in cooperation with presenting partner IWC Schaffhausen. Regional editions will be released in Mainland China, Malaysia and the Philippines later this year.
