The Editorial Team’s Associate Features Editor Chats with Telum Media

26 July 2021 – Zabrina Lo, associate features editor at Tatler Hong Kong, was recently interviewed by Telum Media about becoming an arts and culture journalist and what she hopes to achieve through her stories.

Telum Media is a media engagement platform operating across Asia, Australia and New Zealand that connects the journalism industry with the public relations community.

In the interview with Telum Media’s content executive and media adviser Edith Yuen, Lo explained how her degrees in English Literature cemented her goal of wanting to share original stories about heritage, arts and culture, especially from her home city of Hong Kong. She went on to say how, with the platform she has at Tatler, she hopes to continue to produce insightful stories that empower and enlighten her readers, and that really have a positive impact on society.

“I wanted to do something that can incorporate both my hobby and inspiration,” Lo says. “I wasn’t able to see a lot of articles [in Hong Kong] about the integral identity of what Hong Kong people would be in terms of its heritage and culture, so I thought, maybe I can play a part by writing in English about traditional cultural heritage for readers who may not have access to our culture because of language barrier.”
